Our exhibition at TEFAF Maastricht this year features an exciting group of medieval objects, to include the wings of the high altar of the Saint Anna Chapel in Schwendi by Bartholomäus Zeitblom (c. 1455-1518), a deathbed scene miniature from Les douze périls d’enfer, illuminated by the Master of Cardinal de Bourbon in Paris c. 1485, and a limestone sculpture of a deacon saint carved in the workshop of Claus de Werve (c. 1380-1439) in Burgundy in the early years of the fifteenth century.
The exhibtion will also feature a group of important Islamic artworks, including a collection of Samanid epigraphic ceramics made in Central Asia during the 9th-10th centuries; as well as a group of important metalwork objects from the Persianate and Central Asian lands.
