A discussion between Jana Gajdošová and Zoë Opačić (an architectural historian and a senior lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London) focuses on medieval architecture. It explores a variety of themes, such as the difference between Romanesque buildings and Gothic buildings, Saint-Denis and the birth of Gothic architecture, the status of medieval architects, the function of late Gothic spires, and the role of women as patrons. This session was made in association with Architecture & Ornament, which opens on October 22nd, 2020. To learn more about the exhibition, click here.
